I can prove the beauty of Sulamadaha Beach from the first time I entered the beach area. Motorized vehicles can park in one place and we have to walk a little to the beach area. When I first entered, I was greeted by many stalls selling food and drinks for friends relaxing on the beach. Rows of chairs with cheerful colors seemed to beckon me to sit on them while looking at the beautiful grounds of Sulamadaha Beach. This beach is dominated by black sand and coral rocks around it, but everything is neatly arranged and is a special charm for Sulamadaha.
Following the cliffs that surround the beach, I found a path that took me to another beautiful place. 10 minutes walk and I felt like I was in a secret area in the form of a lagoon. This place is called Saomadaha and is a small bay with very clear water. I felt like I was in a place that usually appears in paintings. Colored coral rocks can be clearly seen from above the water surface without having to fall into the water. However, it would be even better if I decided to swim in Saomadaha. Cool water and calm atmosphere will be the perfect combination to enjoy my life today.
Today’s situation is not busy, which is natural because today is a working day. Not all of the stalls lined up around the bay are open. There weren’t too many visitors, but this was better because I could enjoy the beauty of Sulamadaha Beach in peace. The air in Ternate, which is quite dry and hot, is not felt at all when you are in the Saomadaha section. This place is really like a beautiful oasis on the outskirts of Ternate.
During holidays and weekends Ternate residents usually use Sulamadaha Beach as a recreation area. They usually swim, ride boats, relax, and even do water sports activities such as snorkeling or banana boating in this place. Everything is managed by local residents who earn income from the Sulamadaha Beach recreation area. The food stalls and beach management are also carried out independently by local residents, but their operations remain under the supervision of the Ternate regional government.
Sulamadaha Beach is located in Sulamadaha Village. By motor vehicle, I reached this place in just 30 minutes from the city center of Ternate. Sulamadaha Beach is Ternate’s leading tourist attraction and continues to be promoted by both the government and local residents and abroad. It seems that local residents are aware of how beautiful the beach panorama is where they live. Now, it’s just a matter of how the government facilitates this tourist attraction so that it continues to develop and provide benefits to residents living in the surrounding areas and regional income .
