The warm morning sun shines in the sky and reflects on the blue gradations of the Ambon sea. The wind rustled coolly, balancing the rays of the sun and gently blowing the beautiful stretch of white sand. The shade of the trees also provided shade on a day that seemed to be getting hotter. In fact, the sound of chirping birds enlivened the atmosphere that morning, blending with the main beauty of Hunimua Beach or better known as Liang Beach.

Liang Beach is the favorite of the many beaches on Ambon Island. This beach is located in Liang village which is approximately 40 kilometers from the center of Ambon city with a travel time of less than one hour by motor vehicle. This beach is famous for the beauty of its ecosystem which is still pristine, clean and beautiful. The green trees combine with a long stretch of white sand. Not to mention the sea is very clean so that the color gradations of its depth are clearly visible, starting from the light blue shoreline to the dark greenish blue deep sea.

Liang Beach is usually busy on weekends or holidays and is one of the main destinations for Ambonese residents to spend their recreation time with family or friends. It’s true that this beach doesn’t have many tourist facilities, but the shade and beauty of Liang Beach will make anyone reluctant to leave quickly when they set foot here. Especially if you have felt the cool sea water at Liang Beach which is very special, because it is not sticky like salt water in general and the water temperature feels refreshingly cool.

Liang Beach is managed by residents around Liang Village and tourists only need to pay a small fee to visit it. During weekends or holidays, local residents usually open food stalls or sell young coconuts at quite affordable prices. In fact, tourists don’t need to worry about toilets because they are available in several corners of the beach area. The most recommended time to visit Liang Beach is in the morning when the sun is just showing its beauty.

On one part of Liang Beach, there is a beautiful pier which is very beautiful to capture in photos. In the past, this pier was used to dock ships, but because it had been around for a long time and the condition was no longer adequate, it was simply abandoned on the edge of Liang Beach. But old items are not always useless, the pier now has interesting artistic value and has become a favorite corner for taking photos at Liang Beach. Not only that, tourists can also jump directly from this pier to enjoy the cool sea water of Liang Beach.

The blowing wind makes Liang Beach increasingly comfortable. The trees seemed to dance to the rhythm of this wind. As the day progresses, Liang Beach does get hotter, but its beauty does not diminish. The shade of this beach, which was named the most beautiful beach in Indonesia in 1990 by the United Nations (UN), will always be maintained by the local wisdom of the residents around Liang Beach. The silence, soft sand and blue water of the Ambon sea will always welcome anyone who comes and make them fall in love with Liang Beach at first sight.
